The Manager will provide direction to and evaluate the performance of the front-line parking enforcement personnel, whose core responsibility is to enforce the parking regulations of Upper Darby Township.
The Director ensures that Parking Enforcement personnel receive essential training on job duties, procedures/protocols, policies, and is accountable for employee behavior/demeanor in accordance with Upper Darby Township guidelines.
The Manager will work closely with the Upper Darby Police Department to develop appropriate program, schedule, and budget to carry out the Parking Enforcement programs and services to meet the parking enforcement objectives of Upper Darby Township.
The Manager will have direct contact with parking customers and will tasked with providing appropriate solutions to issues that are presented, including settlements of disputes generated by customer complaints.
The Manager will also ensure the operation of equipment, Parking Enforcement vehicles, bikes, and continuous staff planning to ensure delivery of effective parking enforcement services.
Qualified candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED; prior supervisor experience of 3 or more individuals; a minimum of four (4) years of progressive employment experience, with exposure to security, planning, budgeting, scheduling, policy development, personnel administration; strong customer service background; knowledge of or aptitude for automated parking enforcement computerized systems; and current and valid driver's license.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree and/or knowledge of parking, zoning, and traffic or other laws and codes which may affect the Parking department.
